Guided help
Answer a few plain-language questions. Guidance saves your progress and learns what helps this customer account.
Buy only what you need
Start with devices you already own. Test one complete order before buying several tablets or printers.
Keep the Kitchen page open on a dedicated, powered tablet or laptop. This avoids paper jams and is the simplest supported handoff.
The Window POS and change calculator run in a current browser. A phone is a good emergency cash backup; a larger screen is faster for a busy line.
Paper printing is not plug-and-play from the cloud. Use a local bridge on the stand network so private printer access is never exposed to the internet.
You can keep an existing Square or other card terminal and use Concession Bites for ordering, cash backup, kitchen tickets, inventory, and reports.
Use everyday words, like “How do I add a hamburger?” or “Where do I see volunteers?”
Customer-scoped guidance can personalize this account. Shared training requires explicit opt-in and is de-identified before export.
Help from Concession Bites
Tell the platform owner what happened, keep the ticket number, and return here to read the answer.
Say where you were, what you tried, and what happened. Never paste passwords or payment keys.
Customer experience
Choose a safe color palette and layout for this school or vendor. Save a draft, preview it, then publish when it looks right.
Pick the closest look, then change only your school colors.
This preview uses the same tokens as the customer menu.
Draft preview — changes are not live until you publish.
Walk-up sales
Take cash orders at the concession window and send paid tickets directly to the kitchen.
Short, customer-specific tips for the task in front of you.
Sign in on an authorized phone and use this same Take Orders page. Cash ordering and the change calculator work here; card tapping requires the native staff companion.
Look up the customer’s code. Inventory and price are checked again before cash is accepted.
Catalog
Individual accounts are scoped to this organization. Password hashes stay server-side.
Use Bulk Edit to change prices or availability for several items, or Add Item for a new food or drink.
Ingredients affect menu recipes. Supplies such as foil, food boats, oil, pans, and propane can be tracked separately as per-sale costs or shared overhead.
Choose one of our free, ready-to-use pictures or upload your own. Every picture is optional and uses the same clean card shape on the customer menu.
Square
Map Concession Bites menu items to Square catalog item and variation IDs. Inventory still comes from Concession Bites recipes and ingredients.
Keep test mode on until launch. Concession Bites will calculate the service charge here and include it in the Square order payload as a Square service charge.
Operations
Use this for halftime giveaways, comps, waste, or restocks. It updates inventory only and does not create a customer order.
Tune the pickup window rules from the browser without editing JSON by hand.
Set a reminder time for the end of the night and choose when leftover inventory should be marked down.
Accounting
A simple cash-style operating view. Concession purchases count when purchased.
Concession Bites helps organize records; it does not provide tax, legal, or accounting advice and is not a general ledger, audit, or tax-filing system. Before filing, have a qualified professional reconcile these records with your bank, payment-processor statements, payroll, donations, sales-tax obligations, and any activity tracked outside the app.
Amounts in the exports use whole cents so spreadsheet totals do not round unexpectedly. Draft and void expenses are included for review and must not be treated as posted expenses without confirmation.
JPG, PNG, or PDF. Starter hints work immediately; confirmed choices teach only this customer account. Parsed receipts stay drafts until a person approves them.
Choose how each item affects profit. A predictable amount used for each sale belongs in a recipe; shared event materials belong in overhead.
Checked food ingredients and per-sale supplies are deducted whenever one menu item is sold. Shared overhead is intentionally kept out of recipes.
Configure multiple processors. Venmo is an optional in-app choice when Braintree is ready; customers can choose card, another wallet, or Pay at Window instead. Priority 1 is preferred; unhealthy or open-circuit providers are skipped before a charge starts. Credentials stay in server environment variables.
